Weekend Review 10/1/10

“It has more mahogany and inlaid wood than a downtown steakhouse…  But all that flash doesn’t hide the fact that Velocity Five is, at its heart, a place for Redskins fans.” – The Washington Post – NightLife

The Weekend Review will be a weekly post of the weekend’s games and events at Velocity Five Sports Restaurant and Bar.  We first have to talk about the Redskins and the triumphant homecoming of McNabb over the Philadelphia Eagles.  The Redskins are now top of the NFC East at 2-0 and 2-2 overall.  The Skins face the Packers next Sunday at FedEx Field.  The Ravens rally and beat the Steelers in the final minute 17-14.  Stop into V5 tonight and watch Monday Night Football tonight as the Patriots take on the Dolphins.

Virginia Tech crushed #21 NC State 41-30 and the Terps took down Duke 21-16.  The Caps lost their only game of the preseason 3-0 against the Predators and will have their first regular season game this Friday night against the Thrashers.  The US lost the Ryder Cup today to Europe 14.5 to 13.5  in a thrilling last day which saw an almost valiant comeback by the US team.

Stop into V5 and catch all the sports action you can enjoy.  If you love sports, you’ll love it even more at Velocity Five.  Try our new Express Lunch Menu at Centreville for only $8 that will get you in and out in 35 minutes.
